Alpinism Course 2025
On July 3rd, I embarked on a basic mountaineering course organized by the UTOE Bellinzona association.
The course's primary objective was to equip us with fundamental skills: glacier and ridge traversing techniques, crevasse rescue maneuvers, a comprehensive review of essential climbing knots, and navigation in uncharted terrain. Our original plan was to summit Adula Peak, but persistent bad weather thwarted our attempts.
Yet, this setback did nothing to dampen our spirits or learning experience. If anything, it added an element of challenge and unpredictability that is quintessential to mountain exploration. This course has been a transformative experience for me. It has not only expanded my technical skills but also opened up new horizons for my photography.
I'm particularly excited about delving into alpine photography, capturing the raw, majestic beauty of mountain landscapes from perspectives that few get to witness. I recognize that I'm still at the beginning of my mountaineering journey. There's a vast world of knowledge ahead of me, but this course has been an inspiring first step. The mountains have a way of humbling you while simultaneously fueling your passion to learn and explore.
My adventure has just begun!
